Urquhart Castle

Urquhart Castle, on the banks of Loch Ness, was once one of the largest castles in Scotland and has a 500 year long (and bloody) history. It has been a focal point for many clashes between local clans (in particular the MacDonalds) and the armies from South of the border.

The Castle and views of the Loch and the Great Glen are simply stunning and a must for any visitor to the area.
